Biography - Diana Whiting

Diana Houghton Whiting was born in Reno, Nevada and grew up in the Dallas Metroplex.  She attended Texas A&M University and graduated with a Bachelor’s in Environmental Design in 1998.

After graduating from college Diana began working in the architectural and construction industry in Louisiana and Texas.  Diana began training in Gasan Ryu Kenpo in 2005 under Shihan Nick Chamberlain, earning her first degree black belt in the fall of 2008.  She is Head Instructor for CSSD Colorado and teaches Children’s Kenpo, Adult Kenpo, and Women’s Self Defense classes.  Diana is also a student of Mr. Charles Tucker in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (Behring) in Greeley, Colorado.

Diana currently resides in Loveland, Colorado with her husband, Stephen and two dogs Ally and Ping.  When not training, Diana enjoys climbing, skiing, swimming, biking and hiking.

Biography - Stephen Whiting

Stephen Whiting was born in Lima, Ohio but grew up primarily in the small town of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin.  He attended Norwich University, Military College of Vermont and graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1994.

After graduating from college and receiving his military commission, Stephen served for four years in the US Army at Ft. Hood in Texas after which he moved to Dallas.  Stephen began training in Gasan Ryu Kenpo in 2005 under Shihan Nick Chamberlain, earning his first degree black belt in the fall of 2008.  He is an Assistant Instructor with CSSD Colorado and helps teach adult Kenpo classes and Women’s Self Defense.  Stephen is also a student of Mr. Charles Tucker in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (Behring) in Greeley, Colorado.

Stephen currently resides in Loveland, Colorado with his wife, Diana and two dogs Ally and Ping.  When not training, Stephen enjoys hiking, backpacking, skiing, reading, swimming in the Big Thompson River with Ally, and hefting a pint at Henry’s Pub.
