Dan Nolan has been a
student of the Martial Arts for over 20 years. He spent the first eight
years of training in an art know as Tukong Moosul, the dynamic combat system
of the South Korean special forces. Dan attributes much of his
specialty in kicking techniques to his training in this art. For the last
twelve years, Dan has been a student of Soke Rod Sacharnoski’s Juko-Ryu
system of martial arts. He has achieved black belt rankings in many of the
arts under the Juko-Ryu system, including Jujutsu, Aiki-jujutsu,
Karate-Jutsu, Kobu-Jutsu (weapons), Iai-Jutsu/Ken-Jutsu (sword), and Ki-Jutsu
(the world famous “Combat Ki” internal energy art). In 2004, Dan was
promoted by Soke Sacharnoski to the rank of Shihan (master instructor), and
in 2005 was appointed to the position of Deputy Head of the Toide
Aiki-jujutsu Division of Juko Kai International.
Dan has been a student of Shihan Schellas
Hyndman in Dallas for twelve years, and an assistant instructor to Shihan
Schellas since 1999. Dan also studies directly under Soke Sacharnoski in
the Juko-Ryu master instructors program.
Dan
has many years of experience teaching students of all ranks, form beginner
to advanced. In addition to teaching formal classes, Dan teaches women’s
self defense seminars, and one-on-one personal training. He places emphasis
on helping students achieve their goals through physical conditioning and
proper technique. He places special attention on proper breathing
techniques, as the importance of the breath cannot be underestimated for
power, protection, and overall good health. Dan believes very strongly in
the JuKo Kai Motto: “If you believe it, you can achieve it.”
