Lewisville Dojo - Kids and Adult Judo classes

A dojo is the school, the physical building in which instruction takes place.  The Lewisville dojo is housed within the Memorial Park Recreation Center, at 1950-B South Valley Parkway, Lewisville, TX.  Below the class schedule is a map showing the location, or you can go here for a map and driving directions.  Classes are scheduled to start Tuesday, January 19th, 2005.

The head instructor for the Lewisville dojo is sensei Kamil Kuroda.  When not teaching Judo, he is found flying the friendly skies, as a pilot for American Airlines and as one of their top flight instructors.

The Lewisville dojo offers instruction in Kodokan Judo, through the CSSD Tamura Judo Program.  Our program is named after our advisor, Sensei Vince Tamura, the highest ranked Judoka in the United States, and the teacher of many of our Judo instructors.  Our program curriculum is overseen by our technical advisor, sensei Jim Webb, a seventh degree Black Belt and long time student of sensei Tamura.

The Lewisville Judo curriculum incorporates the innovative character development program designed specifically for children involved in the martial arts, 3-Steps to a Great Kid^sm.  Adult classes are offered on both nights, and also at the headquarters dojo on Saturday and Sunday.

This is a new, City of Lewisville Recreation Center and offers superb facilities, and a great training area.  We are fortunate to be able to offer a great program, great facilities and experienced instructors.

Tuition:
You can mix and match classes during the week, for example you could take weekday classes at the recreation center dojo, and then join us at the headquarters school at Bachman Lake on Sundays!

Registration:

Enrollment for this program is done through the City of Lewisville's Parks & Leisure Services Department.  There are several ways to enroll for this class.

1. Walk-In Registration
   Visit a Lewisville Recreation Center nearest you. To speed up this registration process, click HERE to print, and fill out, the necessary "Registration Form" from the Lewisville Parks & Leisure Services WOW Brochure, referencing the class codes located below. There are no additional membership fees or hidden costs.
    
2. Express Mail-In Registration for the 2005 Winter/Spring Session
   Easier, Faster, Less Hassle!   Mail in your "Registration Form" for the Winter/Spring Session as early as December 2nd to assure your space on the floor.  Enclose check(s), or money order(s) (no cash, please), and send with a self-addressed, stamped envelope to:

   • Make checks payable to "City of Lewisville".
   • Please send a separate check for each class registration.
   • A self-addressed, stamped envelope, is required to send receipt.
   • Mail-In Registration will be processed before Walk-In Registration for each residential group, in the order in which it is received.
      
3. Online Registration
   The City of Lewisville Parks & Leisure Services promises online registration will be available January 2005!
