Biography - Kamil Kuroda

Sensei Kamil Kuroda is one the lead instructors in charge of the in Kodokan Judo and Heike Ryu Jiu-Jitsu classes.  He team-teaches the CSSD Judo program with sensei Jim Webb at the CSSD headquarters school and teaches the Friday night class there.  He began his Judo training in Hawaii, growing up on the Big Island.  He has continued his training under many top instructors, including most recently, sensei Vince Tamura, the highest ranked Judoka in America and the head of the Chamberlain Studios of Self Defense™ (CSSD) Tamura Judo Program. 

Sensei Kuroda is a pilot with American Airlines and is also one of their flight instructors.  He recently returned from Tokyo, Japan following his participation in the summer 2005 training camp at the Kodokan, the world Judo Headquarters.  He holds the rank of Sandan/third degree Black Belt in Kodokan Judo.

He is a gifted instructor who brings 30 years of Judo experience to the mat.  He has a gentle and relaxed teaching approach, combined with a great sense of humor.  We are fortunate to have him on our teaching staff.
